Skellefteå Universities Alliance
SUA is a foundation that was established in 2025 by Nornan Invest, Skellefteå Municipality, and Skellefteå Kraft to enable the development of new educational models and strategic collaborations between academia, business, and society. SUA aims to contribute to increasing the supply of higher education in Skellefteå and promoting innovation in academic education and learning nationally.

Skellefteå as a test bed
Skellefteå constitutes an ideal testing ground for this work for several reasons. The region is at the center of the green industrial transition, with rapid development in industries such as future mineral extraction, battery production, wood technology, and sustainable energy. This creates a need for new skills and new education models that can quickly meet the demands of the job market. Skellefteå also has a long tradition of collaboration between business, society, and educational actors, providing a stable foundation for testing and further developing innovative solutions and work methods.
